What does a Massage Therapist do?
Massage Therapists treat their clients by using thearpeutic touch to relieve pain, stress, provide relaxation and rehabilitate injuries. They often utilize a variety of massage and holistic techniques to aid in the well-being of the body- essentially making their clients feel good!
Where can they work?
It’s a big world out there and Massage Therapists can be found working in the obvious places of spas, medical practices, with Physical Therapists and Chiropractors but they can also work in resorts, cruise ships, with sports teams, fitness centers, not to mention on your own!
What is the job outlook for Massage Therapists?
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the field is projected to grow by 23% from 2012 to 2022, much faster than the average for all occupations!
Why enroll in IBT’s Massage Therapy Program?
IBT has been training people in Silicon Valley since 1965. The institute of Business and Technology has a 9 month hands-on Massage Therapy program with an on-site working clinic. IBT assists graduates in completing the required documents to become licensed in the State of California. Graduates will be able to sit for the MBLEX and CAMTC Certifications.
Upon graduating the Massage Therapy Program, students receive a massage table, including a headrest, bolster, carrying case, and a set of sheets, ready to begin work!
