What does a Medical Assistant do?
A graduate of the Medical Assistant program will be prepared to assist physicians with:
• Medical exams
• Be able to perform basic
laboratory procedures, including
phlebotomy procedures.
• Mount, monitor and record
electrocardiograms
• Be able to prepare and
administer injections
• And more!
A Medical Assistant is also prepared in front office procedures, including:
• Bookkeeping
• Record management
• Appointment scheduling
• Insurance
• Medical practice management.
Where can I work as a Medical Assistant?
Medical Assistants work under the supervision of physicians. They primarily work in a variety of medical practices, clinics, and urgent care centers.
Why take the IBT Medical Assistant program?
• 9 months of training.
• A 160-hour externship program, which allows our students
to get practical training in the field in addition to
hands-on training in the classroom.
• Upon completion of the program, graduates will be eligible
to take the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
examination to become a National Certified Medical Assistant
or the American Medical Technologies (AMT) examination to
become a Registered Medical Assistant.
